Natural hair installation
This installation presents a cross constructed from strands of natural human hair, each strand donated by individuals who chose to contribute a part of themselves to the work. The hair, carefully gathered and preserved, is woven and layered to form a fragile yet powerful structure that reinterprets a universal symbol through the intimacy of human material.
Rather than relying on traditional sacred or industrial materials, the piece uses something deeply personal—hair, a remnant of identity and presence. Each donation carries an invisible trace of its origin, transforming the cross into a collective body shaped by many lives.
Suspended in space, the structure shifts subtly with light and movement, revealing textures that oscillate between softness and discomfort, beauty and unease. It invites reflection on themes of memory, sacrifice, mortality, and shared humanity, questioning what it means to offer something of oneself in the creation of meaning.
The work does not seek to define belief, but to materialize connection—binding individual stories into a single form that is at once physical and symbolic.
